The average temperature for Mozambique is around 27ºC all year round. The hot, humid rainy season is generally from October to March with the average temperature along the coast being 30 degrees Celsius (86º F). Southern coastal areas experience a sub-tropical climate while the northern coastal parts of the country are tropical. Generally, in the dry season, which is from April to September, temperatures along the coast average 27ºC (80ºF).

Ideal time to go

Generally the winter months from April to September are the best time to visit Mozambique. The southern parts of the country are generally dryer and less tropical than the north. Like most parts of southern Africa the best months for game viewing are August and September, as the bushveld is less dense. The Mozambican coast is an ideal fishing destination, with larger fish populating the waters in summer, and small to medium sized fish in winter.
