Mozambique Beach and Safari Holiday
Departing Johannesburg in the morning you take the short flight to the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport where you will be met and transferred by road or air to your lodge in the Sabi Sand Big 5 Game Reserve for the next three nights. You should arrive in time to relax a little before the late afternoon game drive in the lodge's 4x4 vehicles with your ranger and tracker. Tracking the often beautiful and sometimes rare wildlife is exciting, but never more so than when it is one of the elusive Big Five (Leopard, Lion, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhinoceros). They share the ragged bushveld with cheetah, hyena, wild dog, zebra, wildebeest, baboon and antelope, in a primordial alliance that captures the heart of Africa. Activities include 2 game drives a day, bush walks and all meals.
Days 2 - 3
There are a few who can resist the call of the South African sunrise, or that of a magnificent fish eagle as it soars through the hazy, cloudless skies. But for the real African experience, nothing compares to the exhilaration of a game drive through the bush in an open-topped Land Rover, guided by staff whose passion for the area is infectious! Morning and afternoon game drives and walks through the bush with your armed ranger and your Shangaan tracker. Excellent chances to see the "Big 5.
After an early morning game drive you are transferred back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for your flight to Vilanculos in Mozambique. On arrival you will be met and transferred by boat to Benguerra Island, where you will be accommodated at your lodge on the beach for the next four nights on a full board basis. Your lodge is merged into a natural acacia forest bordering Benguerra Bay and is encircled by silver beaches, coral reefs and turquoise seas.
Days 5 - 7
3 more full days to enjoy this island paradise. You may simply choose to recline within the shade of a beach umbrella or indulge in one of the many activities offered at the lodge, including snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing and bird watching.
After an early morning swim or island walk you are transferred back to Vilanculos by boat, where you board your flight to Johannesburg, to connect with your international flight home.
