Tanzania Safari

Tanzania is the largest of the East African countries, and one of Africa’s most exciting safari destinations. Tanzania’s most famous sites include Africa’s highest mountain - Mount Kilimanjaro, the Ngorongoro Crater and the vast Serengeti National Park, as well as the romantic spice islands of Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia.
Tanzania is a rich tapestry of abundant wildlife, varied tribes and cultures, breathtaking scenery and glorious sandy beaches. Temperatures are welcoming and gentle, with warm and sunny days followed by cool, balmy nights. English is widely spoken.
Tanzania has two distinct safari circuits – the North and the South. To know which circuit is right for you, please see the detailed information on each circuit to understand the significant differences.
In a nutshell, the Northern Circuit is the more popular and more crowded. This circuit can be undertaken as a self-drive safari, or travel on a privately guided safari. Roads are generally good, but there is a lot of driving. There are no walking safaris in the Northern Circuit parks, and you need at least a week.
The Southern Circuit is less busy. Generally it works well as a fly-in safari, so can be for 2 or 3 nights if time is limited. Lodge activities can include walking safaris and boating.
Experience the thrill of a Big 5 Safari; or the phenomenon of the wildebeest migration across the Serengeti plains; climb Mount Kilimanjaro, visit the Cradle of Mankind at Olduvai Gorge; scuba dive in azure waters with pristine coral reefs; walk barefoot along deserted palm-fringed beaches …. A Tanzania safari has it all.
